Fire Warden TrainingOur fire safety training instructors are fully qualified and insured fire safety professionals. When they deliver a course they can draw on their years of experience to deliver interesting, meaningful training content. The instructors who operate with us have over 28 years experience in the job & remain competent by attending regular refresher training courses. Fire training for members of staff should be especially relevant to their job role. An example would be staff members who are expected to tackle small fires with extinguisher equipment, in this instance our fire extinguisher training courses would be ideal.

 

This four hour course aims to create an awareness of the nature of fire and an understanding of the responsibilities and appropriate actions of a fire marshal (fire warden). It also provides practical opportunities to operate different types of fire extinguisher in a controlled environment.

 

Who should attend the Course

Fire Warden Training – Persons that are nominated to be a Fire Warden and people with specific fire safety roles in their workplace. This course is for staff with a designated responsibility as fire warden or fire marshal, and provides the skills and confidence that will allow them to carry out their duties relating to fire safety and emergency procedures. The number of fire wardens that your organisation requires depends on the building design and use. In addition you should train extra staff to cover for holidays and illness.

Duration: Half Day

Course Objective

The course will give the candidates the competence and confidence in their role and responsibilities in a fire evacuation situation and to deal with a fire effectively.

Course Content

By the end of the course and by way of a theoretical session the attendee will have knowledge of:

  • fire safety legislation
  • what is fire
  • What to do on discovering a fire
  • What to do on hearing the alarm
  • Fire fighting equipment
  • Fire safety signage
  • Role of a Fire Warden
  • Evacuation procedures
  • Personnel safety
  • Housekeeping and safe practices

By way of a practical session the operation of fire extinguishers appropriate to their workplace and if Practical a tour of the premises as a group to identify potential risks and how to report.
